We Look Forward To Meeting You!

Welcome to De Smet Community Church. We’ve put together some information here that anticipates and tries to briefly answer some of the questions you may have prior to visiting our church for the first time:

Atmosphere

It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. We hope our atmosphere will help you feel relaxed and comfortable. We are glad to have you join us in worship! You will be greeted and welcomed.  Whether it is through the music, prayer or preaching, God's word is at the center of all of our gatherings. Our worship service is "traditional" in the sense that we sing traditional hymns each week.  Each service consists of singing hymns, a responsive Psalter reading, scripture readings, the sermon, and a time for prayer.  The sermons are built on God’s Word, not the pastor's ideas, and aim at transforming our lives to be more like Jesus Christ.  Most of the sermon series' are preaching through entire books of the bible.  We will occasionally take a break from these series to observe church holidays (Palm Sunday, Easter, Advent, etc.) and special services such as baby dedications, believer baptism, and adding new members to our church family

Family Friendly

No matter your family dynamics, you are welcome at De Smet Community Church and we are excited for you to consider being a part of our church family!  We do have a nursery stocked with plenty of toys, however it is not staffed during the service.  Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join us in the sanctuary for worship.  We do not consider children to be a distraction, and believe that families of all ages benefit the most from worshipping together.

Biblical Teaching

Here at De Smet Community Church, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The worship service is a time for us to come together as a community to learn, be encouraged and to be challenged by God's Word.
